Lights, Camera Action!!

How cool, 7th grade girls from Missouri City Middle School will be on the News. Flip your channel to FOX 26 at 5 pm or 9 pm and stay tuned. This became possible because of our guest speaker.

Our Motivational speaker, Melinda Spaulding, is a co-anchor of FOX 26 News. She is a member of the Houston Association of Black Journalists. Her first reporting job was in New Orleans. She stayed in Houston for 6 years. Melinda began her career working on television at KTLA WB 5 in Los Angeles. She won an award for “Best News Writing” by the regional Associated Press .Melinda wanted to encourage the girls to make good choices. She wants them to make choices and bounce back up after making a bad choice. She was giving contexts words for them to understand resilient. She taught them to be positive and careful with choices and how to encourage other people around them.
